A fire that broke out in a 7-storey apartment building in Agios Dometios resulted in the evacuation of the building and the transfer of an occupant to the hospital.
The fire broke out at eleven last night in an apartment on the 3rd floor of the apartment building.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire and as reported by the press representative Andreas Kettis, proceeded to remove 20 tenants from the upper floors, with the help of the Police.
Some tenants inhaled smoke and one of them had to be taken by ambulance to the first aid department of the Nicosia General Hospital.
The fire, by all indications, appears to have been caused by a gas heater.
