“Bring Your Cup” campaign launched in Cyprus

“Bring Your Cup” campaign launched in Cyprus

The “Bring Your Cup” campaign has launched in Cyprus as part of the “Save our sand and sea without plastic” project.

Activists are urging the public to choose reusable cups when ordering their favorite drink, noting that at least 10,000 disposable cups end up in landfills every day.

According to statistics, Cyprus ranks 15th in the world in coffee consumption, with each resident of the island consuming more than 13 kg of coffee per year.

"Yet almost all the coffee we enjoy is served in disposable cups, adding to our island's growing waste management problem," the campaigners say.

Anyone wishing to take part in the promotion can go to the website

bringersup.org

to find out which cafes are participating in the program and invite your favorite establishments to support the initiative.

Bring Your Cup is part of the Keep Our Sand and Sea Plastic Free Project, an initiative of the TUI Care Foundation and the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Association (CSTI) with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism Beyond Plastic Med-BeMed and the Cyprus Environment Fund (CEF).
